More about Kirsten:

Kirsten Powell is a licensed REALTOR®, Associate Broker with REAL Broker LLC in Idaho and California. She works hand in hand with her husband Rick Powell in running The Powell Group Idaho here in Meridian, Idaho.

She was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark prior to coming to the United States in 1987 to attend college on full swimming scholarship. While growing up, swimming was a large focus in her life and with years of hard training and great coaching, she became the Danish National Champion and record holder in the 50 and 100 Meter Freestyle on multiple occasions. Kirsten attended Indian River Community College and Florida State University on full scholarships while continuing to swim on the Danish National Team. While at Indian River, Kirsten was named Female Swimmer of the Year for NJCAA and while at Florida State, she was Team Captain and recipient of the No Pain No Gain award. She was also part of team that qualified for NCAAs in 1990.

She earned her degree in Hospitality Administration from Florida State and went on to work for The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company as a Concierge and Front Desk Manager before jumping to the financial service industry where she worked in many roles to include Vice President and Key Account Manager, Offshore Funds Manager and was also on the Steering Committee in London that oversaw the AIM Mutual Funds/INVESCO merger that created INVESCAP. In 2001, Kirsten decided to leave the corporate world and focus the next several years on raising Richard’s and her daughter.

The customer/client training she received at the Ritz Carlton created a great base for how she handles our clients in Real Estate and her background in the Financial Services industry helps ensure that the long view is taken when discussing whether or not a property is a good acquisition. The attention to her clients and her focus on organization and detail is valuable in all of her transactions.

Kirsten joined Rick in real estate in 2004 as the Office Manager and Transaction Coordinator and within a short time received her real estate license and taking on her own clients. In 2010, she earned her Brokers License, the highest licensing requirement in real estate.

On the personal side, Kirsten and Rick just celebrated 31 years of marriage (January 2025) and love to spend time with their daughter who played collegiate volleyball for Cal Poly Pomona (2016-2020). In her spare time, Kirsten can be found on the Peloton, on the mountain trails, skiing the local mountains, playing pickle ball and spending time with her family and friends.

Rick Powell is a licensed REALTOR®, Associate Broker with REAL Broker LLC in Idaho and California. He works hand in hand with his wife Kirsten Powell in running The Powell Group Idaho here in Meridian, Idaho on a full-time basis.

Originally from Miami, Florida, Rick is a 3rd Generation Real Estate Broker who can trace his family's professional involvement in real estate back over 70 years. Rick's early years include the better part of a decade spent as a touring and studio musician, a stint in the U.S. Army and then a decade of in retail that started with a music store he and Kirsten owned in Houston. This culminated Rick into a Corporate Retail Buyer responsible for a $420 million dollar division that served over 200 retail stores across the country.

In October 2003, Rick took and passed the California Real Estate exam before launching Powell Fine Homes in Westlake Village in early 2004. In 2005, Richard and Kirsten joined Aviara Real Estate as Shareholder/owners in Westlake Village. In addition to being a Shareholder at Aviara, Rick was active on their Board of Directors (2007, 2009, 2010,2012 and 2014) and was the Chairman of the Board in 2009. He has also served with the Conejo Valley Association of Realtors on many Committees over the years to include MLS, Rules and Compliance, Internet and more.

Rick holds the following real estate accreditations: Accredited Staging Professional, e-Pro Internet Professional, Certified Distressed Property Expert, the prestigious Accredited Buyers Representative along with the American Land Institute - Certified Land Consultant designation.

On the personal side, Kirsten and Rick have been married for over 32 years and love to spend time with their daughter who played collegiate volleyball for Cal Poly Pomona (2016-2020). In his spare time, Rick can be found working on his Jeep, off-roading and exploring Idaho, riding on the mountain trails, skiing the local mountains and spending time with his family and friends.
